Tom Cruise’s film Mission Impossible 8 was set to be released on July 7, 2023. But, now Paramount and Skydance have selected a new date for the release. The new release date is June 28, 2024.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the release date of Mission Impossible 7 was changed several times. First, Paramount changed the date from July 2020 to Dec 2020. Paramount changed the release date on the month of April 2020 the early months of the pandemic. But the date has been changed again. It first changed to Nov. 19, 2021, and then to May 27, 2022.
Paramount and Skydance said, “After thoughtful consideration, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have decided to postpone the release dates for Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 in response to delays due to the ongoing pandemic. The new release dates will be July 14, 2023, and June 28, 2024, respectively. We look forward to providing moviegoers with an unparalleled theatrical experience”.
Paramount and Skydance have another movie Top Gun: Maverick with Tom Cruise. It had to get released on May 27, 2022. It can be expected that the film will not move from its place.

The casts of Mission Impossible 7 and 8 are Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Henry Czerny, Vanessa Kirby, Simon Pegg, Angela Bassett, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney, Cary Elwes, and Charles Parnell.
Theatrical Movies of Cruise
These days, many film studios including Disney have sent their high-budget films for streaming. But, Paramount’s Scream has earned $54.9 million globally since January month. Paramount has kept A Quiet Place Part II as a theatrical exclusive film. It can also be expected that the films of Tom Cruise Mission Impossible series and Top Gun: Maverick will also be theatrical.
McQuarrie’s Statement
In the month of August, Tom and McQuarrie showed the Mission Impossible 7 footage to the theater owners at CinemaCon. They had also shown the death-defying stunt of Tom Cruise for the film. McQuarrie stated, “The only thing that scares me more is what we have planned for Mission 8.”
