iPhone 15 Periscope Lens Feature

Analyst Jeff Pu says that iPhone 15 Pro will get the Periscope Lens feature which will be launched in the year 2023. Periscope lens will allow it to get more optical zoom.

Features of Periscope Lens

What does a periscope lens do? The light entering the telephoto lens on the backside of the iPhone would be reflected by an angled mirror towards the image sensor of the camera. The change in direction in which the light travels would allow for the company to fit a longer telephoto setup inside the iPhone. It allows the users to zoom further without any blurriness.

Periscope Lens Rumors

Since early 2020, it had been circulated that iPhone is getting a Periscope lens. A reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was the first who had mentioned the possibility. Kuo initially said that the Periscope will be featured in the iPhone 14 Pro but it can be noticed that we need to wait till 2023 to get Periscope Lens in iPhone as it will be launched with iPhone 15 Pro model.

Some Other Smartphones with Periscope Lens

Some Android smartphones are already in the market that got the Periscope Lens feature. Some of them are Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Huawei P40 Pro+, etc. With the Periscope Lens, both of these phones provide 10x optical zoom. The latest iPhone 13 series phone iPhone 13 Pro model has got 3x optical zoom.
